CareWorx Community Food Bank

CareWorx Community Food Bank will aim to address the increasing demand in the City of Hume by providing emergency food relief in the form of ‘food parcels’ that include dry goods and fresh fruit and vegetables (working in conjunction with the local community gardens while working to establish our own garden).   This assistance will be available to families living within the Hume Municipality and limited to one parcel per week at this stage.

This program has the potential to expand and grow as more funds become available and suitable refrigerators and freezers can be purchased to keep up with demand.

In addition to the provision of food parcels we aim to create and maintain a safe and welcoming environment where all members of the community regardless of race or religion will be treated with dignity and respect at all times.

Once fully established we are planning to run a series of healthy cooking classes and teach basic horticulture skills to help families grow and cook their own vegetables, assisting them to make healthy meal choices.
